What Is Republic Day In India | How It Is Celebrated

India Republic day which is on 26th January it is one of the 3 national holidays in India. Other two are Independence Day and Gandhijayanti.  India was declared a Republican on 26th January 1950 i.e. it became democratic and decided to choose the government by the people.  India gained independence on 15 august 1947 but made its constitution in 1950. The day 26th January was chosen because it was the date of poornaswaraj. The right to poornaswaraj was declared by Indians on 26th January 1930.  Because of the sacrifices of our great freedom fighters this was possible.

Happy Republic Day 2017, Wishes, Messages & Sms

Now this year 2017 we are celebrating 68th year of Republican country, but even after these many years of independence we are surrounded by many social evils like rape, corruption, child labor, human trafficking and many more things. I personally believe that India would be independent in true sense when it would be free from all the social evils. After becoming democratic means that the people are themselves choosing their leaders, there is some kind of inefficiency in selecting a great leader. Who can help to build a great nation?
